Practical conversations about life, death, and marketing.
We explore the business side of estate planning.
We explore the systems, positioning, and business models that help estate planning firms grow with stability and intention.
We discuss messaging, visibility, and referral strategy so your firm becomes easier to find and easier to trust.
We host thoughtful conversations about where estate planning is headed — and how growth-minded firms can stay ahead.

There’s a strange disconnect in the world of estate planning.
On one hand, this profession sits at the center of what matters most. Family. Legacy. Hard-earned assets. The stories people carry and the responsibility they feel to protect the people they love.
On the other hand, much of the marketing around estate planning feels… flat.
Safe. Predictable. Forgettable.
That gap is exactly why I started the Don't Be Boring Estate Planning Marketing podcast.
My connection to estate planning didn’t start in marketing.
It started on Capitol Hill in the early 2000s, working as a congressional aide during a time when estate tax policy was constantly shifting. Later, as a lobbyist representing agriculture, I saw firsthand how those policies impacted real families, real businesses, and real generational decisions.
Estate planning isn’t theoretical. It’s deeply personal.
And yet, most firms are still marketing like it’s just another transactional service.
The world is changing quickly. AI is reshaping how people search, how they evaluate professionals, and how they make decisions. The economy adds another layer of uncertainty. Families are asking bigger questions, earlier, and with more urgency.
That creates an opportunity. Not for louder marketing. For better marketing.
More human. More clear. More memorable.
This podcast is built for estate planning attorneys and professionals who want to grow without blending in.
Each week, I’ll be bringing conversations that focus on:
Real stories from estate planning attorneys and the clients they serve
What’s changing in how consumers find and choose legal services
Practical marketing strategies that actually drive calls and clients
The role of personality, clarity, and trust in a high-stakes profession
And yes, there’s a small twist.
Each episode will also include a quick nod to my favorite music of the week. Because even in a serious profession, there’s room to be human.
In the first episode, I lay the groundwork.
You’ll hear where I came from, why estate planning matters to me, and what I see happening right now in the market that most firms are missing.
If you’re an estate planning attorney, or you work in this world, this episode will give you a clear sense of where things are headed and how to think differently about your own approach.

Estate planning is about people at their most thoughtful, sometimes at their most vulnerable, and often at their most decisive. Marketing should reflect that. Not by being louder but by being real.
How do you stand out in a crowded market?
How do you create predictable demand beyond referrals?
How do you build a firm that supports your life, not consumes it?
If you care about the business side of estate planning, you're in the right place.
About
Before starting a marketing agency, I worked in Washington during major estate tax changes in the 2000s. Later, representing agricultural organizations, I saw how estate planning decisions impacted multi-generational families and businesses.
Estate planning is not just a legal service. It shapes legacy.
